This ongoing project is the result of recent journeys by bicycle, around parts of the Midlands of Ireland. This area stands in contrast to the Wild Atlantic Way and the Ancient East. It is no longer as vibrant as it once was. I explored and documented the lesser known areas and have interviewed people living and working there. The aim of this body of work is to approach a discussion between a contemporary and an historical view of this part of Ireland. The project interweaves history, folklore, stories, memory, nature, natural history. It witnesses and records the changing landscape, traditions and attitudes.
